Kristina Bröring-Sprehe & Desperados FRH

CHIO Aachen: Desperados FRH is Back

After the German Championship in Balve where Hanoverian stallion Desperados FRH seemed to be rather weary he now seems to be back to his old form. With 82,314 percent, Kristina Bröring-Sprehe and the 15-year-old De Niro son finished the Grand Prix in second place behind their team colleagues Isabell Werth and Weihegold OLD. “He was great to work with,” the 30-year-old rider said. However, following Sönke Rothenberger’s and Dorothee Schneider’s example, they made some mistakes in the two-times flying changes. “That’s something that currently is on my mind,” Bröring-Sprehe admitted. “I let him too lose.”
But the rider is happy about the fact that Desperados is back in form: ” We put some more effort into feeding, now he’s a little bit more wiry. And Monica and I worked on the elevation.”
Having a look at the team ranking German national coach Monica Theodorescu has reason to be pleased. The German team (admittedly without direct competition) currently leads the competition, they are 30 points ahead of the USA. The Danish currently rank in third place. “It’s great”, Theodorescu said. “But there’s still room for improvement.” The coach also had an explanation for the manifold mistakes in the two-times flying changes. “Most certainly there’s a water vein.”
