Tim Stockdale is annoyed by the fact that the British Equestrian Federation did not send a team to the EC in Gothenburg. Therefore he has resigned from his post at the British Showjumping International Committee. Stockdale was rider representative for more than ten years. The 53-year-old said to Horse & Hound that the riders were not told beforehand that there would be no team. It had not even been mentioned as an option. One week before the official announcement he had heard the rumour. Then he had wanted to get the possibility to say that he did not think it was the right decision but there had not been any opportunity for consultation. The official announcement stated that the decision was the result of a process based on performance data and discussions with athletes and owners from the nominated entries list.
